Autonomous driving: our talk at the TU Darmstadt

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christian Hochberger, TU Darmstadt (Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology), had invited us to give a talk during the "2016 Industrial Colloquium on Data Technology".

We picked an especially interesting subject for the event: “Autonomous driving: dream or nightmare? Safety + security in cars is possible!” The talk was given on 12/07/2016 by our managing director Josef Horstkötter.

The talk focused on the question of how to handle the software risks of autonomous cars through professional development activities. This involves two aspects: safety of internal systems and security against external manipulations.

Attendance was good and the audience listened with interest. The talk was followed by a long, lively discussion. Of course, the accident involving a Tesla and the security problem at BMW were also mentioned. This also shows the topicality of this issue.
